At our block center, children will understand how to use different materials to construct and create and learn how things fit and work together.
Through stacking, balancing, and arranging different materials, children learn fundamental concepts of engineering, spatial awareness, and cause-and-effect. As they experiment with how blocks fit together, they develop important cognitive skills, including problem-solving, reasoning, and planning. Whether working independently or as part of a team, children also strengthen their social skills by sharing materials, collaborating on projects, and communicating their ideas.
